New client services director joins Code

Sunday, 19 March 2006

Manchester-based Code has appointed Andrew Davenport as client services director.

The appointment follows Code’s decision to shift its focus from design and build to that of an integrated digital marketing agency – a move that was cemented at the end of last year through the launch of a media planning division. Andrew is set to play a major role in marketing Code’s integrated offer to new business prospects and overseeing client services for the agency’s existing customers.

Previously business development director with Sass since 2003, Andrew has more than 20 years experience of sales and marketing, with a career that spans the retail, distribution and manufacturing sectors.

He comments, “As a marketeer I have become increasingly fascinated by the constantly evolving possibilities that the digital channel is opening up for brands and businesses. The internet and interactivity of the medium, combined with other emerging digital technologies, is totally changing the way that consumers consume. This creates both a massive opportunity and a tremendous challenge for an agency with the skills, quality of product and market position of Code. I simply couldn’t miss the chance to join the award-winning team here and to play a part in further developing an already exceptional portfolio of clients.”

Code managing director, Tony Foggett, adds, “Andrew’s background and experience will undoubtedly be indispensable in helping Code to establish itself as a digital marketing agency, as opposed to design and build experts, in addition to helping further strengthen our ability to integrate online and offline strategy. Having worked both agency and client side, this has enabled him to build up a well-rounded understanding of how digital fits into the overall marketing mix and its role as a key delivery channel. His appointment will see us better placed than ever to help both new and existing clients to develop and gain maximum potential from fully integrated online campaigns.”

Code, formed in 1999, now employs 32 people and works for clients including Kimberly Clark Corporation, HMV, Centura Foods, Capital One, Nokia, Bupa and NUS Services.
